Competitor benchmarking automatically shows you exactly how AI engines represent you compared to named competitors. TruthVouch answers critical questions: Are AI systems aware of you? Are they aware of competitors? Who’s winning the AI visibility game?

Brand SWOT Analysis

Setting Up Competitor Benchmarking

Add Competitors

Navigate to Brand Intelligence → Settings → Competitors.

Click Add Competitor and enter:

  • Company name: The competitor’s legal name
  • Website URL: Their primary domain (e.g., https://competitor.com)
  • Optional notes: Why you’re tracking them (direct competitor, adjacent market, aspirational benchmark, etc.)

You can track up to 5 competitors simultaneously.

Monitor Frequency

Choose how often to audit competitors:

  • Weekly (default) — Automatic sync with your monitoring cycle
  • Daily — More frequent updates (higher cost)
  • Monthly — Lower cost, less frequent updates
  • Custom — Define your own schedule

Benchmark Dashboard

Navigate to Brand Intelligence → Competitive → Dashboard.

You’ll see side-by-side comparison of:

AI Visibility Score (0-100)

Measures how recognizable you are to AI systems compared to competitors.

Your Company: 72
Competitor A: 85 ← Leading
Competitor B: 71 ← Roughly tied
Competitor C: 60 ← You lead

What it measures:

  • % of AI engines aware of the company
  • Frequency of mentions
  • Accuracy of mentions

Interpretation:

  • Competitor A is more visible in AI — they’re winning mind-share
  • You’re comparable to Competitor B
  • You significantly outpace Competitor C

GEO Score Comparison

How well each company’s website is optimized for AI discovery.

Your Site GEO Score: 72/100
Competitor A: 85/100
Competitor B: 71/100
Competitor C: 60/100

Why this matters:

  • Competitors with higher GEO scores will be more discoverable by AI
  • If your GEO is lower, you’re at a disadvantage
  • Improving GEO gives you competitive edge

Per-Engine Representation

Table showing which engines know about each company:

| ChatGPT | Claude | Gemini | Perplexity | Copilot
Your Co | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes
Comp A | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes
Comp B | Yes | Yes | No | Yes | No
Comp C | Yes | No | No | Yes | No

Insights:

  • You’re in all 5 engines (best coverage)
  • Competitor A is also in all 5
  • Competitor B is missing from Gemini and Copilot
  • Competitor C is only in 2 engines (weakest presence)

Narrative Comparison

Which narratives favor you vs. competitors?

Narrative | You | Comp A | Comp B | Comp C
Enterprise-focused | 85% | 80% | 75% | 60%
Security-first | 90% | 70% | 65% | 50%
Innovative | 75% | 85% | 80% | 70%
Affordable | 60% | 70% | 75% | 85%

Reading this:

  • You lead in “Security-first” narrative (90% vs Comp A’s 70%)
  • Competitors lead in “Affordable” narrative (Comp C at 85%)
  • “Enterprise-focused” is relatively even across all of you

Strategic insight: You could strengthen your “Security-first” positioning and challenge competitors on affordability claims.

Competitor Overview

  • Website: Link to their site
  • AI Visibility Score: 0-100
  • GEO Score: 0-100
  • Added date: When you started tracking them
  • Update frequency: How often we monitor them

Competitor Strengths

The narratives and claims where they outpace you:

- "Innovative approach" (prevalent in 90% of engines vs. your 75%)
- "Affordable pricing" (mentioned in 100% of engines, you rarely mentioned)
- "Fastest deployment" (60% of engines mention this about them, 0% about you)

Strategic response:

  • Develop counter-narratives (“Enterprise-grade, not commodity”)
  • Create cost/value comparison content
  • Benchmark your actual deployment time vs. theirs

Competitor Weaknesses

Gaps in their AI representation:

- "Enterprise compliance" (only 40% of engines mention this, you're at 90%)
- "24/7 support" (not mentioned in any AI responses)
- "SOC 2 compliance" (mentioned rarely, you emphasize this)

Opportunity: Emphasize these gaps in your content. AI systems don’t know competitors have these strengths, which helps you.

Competitor Website Analysis

GEO audit of their website:

Competitor A GEO Score: 85/100
- Factual Density: 88/100 ← They're very detailed
- Structured Data: 92/100 ← Heavy schema markup
- FAQ Presence: 95/100 ← Comprehensive FAQ
- Content Freshness: 78/100 ← Could be more current

What this tells you:

  • Competitor A invests heavily in structured data
  • You should match or exceed their structured data implementation
  • Their content freshness is mediocre (opportunity for you to outpace)

  • Customer loyalty

What it does show:

  • How AI systems perceive you vs. competitors
  • Narrative positioning in AI systems
  • Website optimization for AI (GEO)
  • Discoverability and awareness

Key insight: Benchmark in AI is useful but incomplete. Combine with customer research, product analysis, and market data for full competitive picture.
