Knowledge Base Overview
The Knowledge Base is the foundation of TruthVouch. It automatically powers hallucination detection, compliance audits, brand monitoring, and every other product in the suite by storing verified facts about your organization.
What’s in Your Knowledge Base?
Your Knowledge Base contains Truth Nuggets — verified, structured facts about your organization. Examples:
- “TruthVouch was founded in 2024”
- “Our CEO is Sarah Mitchell”
- “Product X costs $99/month”
- “We have 150+ employees in 8 countries”
- “Our API processes 5M requests/day”
Truth Nuggets are categorized (Company, Products, Leadership, Financial, Technical, Legal, Competitive) and scored by confidence level. Every fact includes an optional source URL for auditability.
How Truth Nuggets Work
When you create a Truth Nugget, TruthVouch converts it into:
- Embeddings — Machine-readable vectors for semantic comparison
- NER Tags — Named entities (company names, people, dates, numbers)
- Verification Data — Source URL, confidence score, expiry date
These representations power hallucination detection. When Shield monitors AI engines, it compares their responses to your Truth Nuggets using Natural Language Inference (NLI). If an AI engine says something that contradicts or diverges significantly from your verified facts, Shield alerts you.
Getting Started: Three Paths
Path 1: Onboarding Wizard (Recommended)
Launch the interactive wizard during signup:
- Enter your organization profile (name, industry, website)
- TruthVouch automatically discovers facts from your website
- Review and approve discovered facts
- Add manual facts as needed
- Activate products
The wizard automatically surfaces 3-5x more facts than manual entry and takes 15-20 minutes.

Path 2: Create Manually
Navigate to Knowledge Base → Truth Nuggets and click Add Truth Nugget. Enter your facts one at a time. Best for small teams or maintenance updates.
Path 3: Bulk Import
Upload a CSV with columns: fact, category, confidence, source_url, expires_at. Useful for launching new products or migrating from other systems.
Quality Matters
A small set of precise Truth Nuggets is more valuable than hundreds of vague ones. Good nuggets:
- Are specific and verifiable (“Revenue was $5M in Q4 2025” not “We have good revenue”)
- Contain one fact per nugget
- Include source links when possible
- Have confidence scores reflecting certainty (0.95+ for facts, 0.7-0.9 for estimates)
- Include expiry dates for time-sensitive information
Using Truth Nuggets Across Products
Every TruthVouch product uses your Truth Nuggets:
