Creating Custom Categories

Default categories might not cover everything. Create custom categories:

  1. Go to Knowledge Base → Categories
  2. Click Add Custom Category
  3. Enter category name (e.g., “Partnerships”, “Awards”, “Industry Position”)
  4. Set display color (optional)
  5. Save

Custom categories appear alongside built-in ones when creating nuggets. You can create unlimited custom categories.

Keyword Tags

In addition to categories, tag nuggets with keywords for fine-grained organization:

When creating a nugget, add tags like:

  • public-statement / confidential
  • marketing-claim / verified-fact
  • time-sensitive / evergreen
  • audit-trail / monitoring
  • Product names: shield, compliance, brand-intel
  • Audiences: investors, customers, press

Filter and search by tags in addition to categories.

Organizing Your Knowledge Base

Strategy 1: By Business Unit

Create custom categories for each org unit:

  • Sales & Marketing
  • Product & Engineering
  • Finance
  • Legal & Compliance
  • Operations

Strategy 2: By Product

Built-in products as custom categories:

  • TruthVouch Shield
  • Compliance AI
  • Brand Intelligence
  • AI Governance
  • Trust API

Then tag facts with public, customer-facing, internal-only.

Strategy 3: Hybrid

Use built-in categories + custom for business units + tags for attributes:

  • Categories: Company, Products, Leadership, Financial, Technical, Legal, Competitive, Sales, Product, Ops
  • Tags: 2024-quarterly, 2025-H1-roadmap, marketing-claim, legal-review-required

Choose the structure that works for your team.
